the staff were super friendly and remembered our names, which made us feel welcome. breakfast was great with a good selection and fresh options. our room had a nice view of the river and was very clean. the location was perfect for exploring cockermouth and nearby attractions. overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place to others.
the air conditioning was non-existent, which made our room quite hot and uncomfortable at times. also, the bathroom could've used a little more attention as the cold tap was a bit temperamental.

Consistent vibes, but service misses
Been coming here for ages! Love the cozy ambience, but the staff could be a bit warmer. Had a nice meal, but drinks prices are crazy high for the area. our main course took forever to arrive. Felt a bit ignored when leaving, not cool. The in-room breakfast is a hit tho!

Couples looking for a cozy escape
I stayed one night with my wife and the dinner was quite outstanding, especially those fat chips. The staff were friendly but one seemed a bit grumpy, still it didn’t ruin the experience for us.
It wasn’t exactly cheap, but it was acceptable for what we got.
